Greg S. Morganroth, MD

Greg S. Morganroth, MD is a double board-certified, fellowship-trained Mohs and reconstructive dermatologic surgeon specializing in Mohs Surgery, laser surgery, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery. He is a nationally recognized expert in local anesthesia skin surgery and has received thousands of referrals from dermatologists and other physicians around the Bay Area and beyond for their patients in need of specialized skin cancer surgery, reconstructive surgery, scar revision, laser surgery, and facial, eye, and body cosmetic surgery.

Over the past three decades, he has performed over 37,800 Mohs procedures and a similar number of face, nose, lip, neck and body reconstructions making him one of the most experienced Mohs surgeons in California and the United States. Dr. Morganroth’s broad repertoire of surgical procedures spans the gap between dermatology and plastic surgery and combines facets of facial plastic surgery, ophthalmic plastic surgery and dermatologic surgery techniques. He is an innovator of minimally invasive cosmetic rejuvenation procedures with local anesthesia including the Vertical Vector facelift, blepharoplasty, tumescent liposuction, neck rejuvenation, chin implants, laser surgery and facial injectables.

Dr. Morganroth was named by Newsweek magazine as one of the top 150 dermatologists in the U.S. in 2023 and was awarded the 36th best cosmetic dermatologist out of the top 150 US dermatologists in 2022. He has been named a Castle Connolly top doctor for 20 straight years.

He attended college at The University of Michigan where he graduated with distinction followed by his M.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. Dr. Morganroth completed his internship at the University of Pennsylvania, a dermatology residency at Yale University, and a Mohs, Laser, and dermatologic surgery fellowship at the Skin and Mohs Surgery Center, Baptist Medical Center and Hunkeler Eye Clinic in Kansas City, Missouri. Following his fellowship, he moved to Silicon Valley to open his private practice of Mohs and dermatologic surgery in Mountain View.

Dr. Morganroth is the Founder and former CEO of California Skin Institute which he grew from his single location in Mountain View into the largest single physician-owned and controlled dermatology practice in the US consisting of 48 offices and 450 employees. In early 2025, he sold CSI to a private-equity back dermatology group under the condition that he and his Mountain View team of dermatologists and staff would leave CSI and open an independent boutique practice in downtown Palo Alto. By combining more efficient diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer in a welcoming 5-star environment, Dr. Morganroth’s next venture’s goal is to revolutionize skin cancer diagnosis and treatment and create a one-of-a-kind patient experience.
